OceanPact offers its tool for estimating the volume of oil spilled at sea in the form of an application.
This calculator was designed based on NOAA's Open Water Oil Identification Job Aid (for aerial observation), version 2, July 2012. Oil thickness estimates from aerial observation have a high degree of uncertainty.
