About FlickrSyncr: Back up to Flickr

Back up every photo and video to Flickr, automatically.

FlickrSyncr watches the folders you choose and sends each new shot to your Flickr account in the background, at full resolution. Set it up once and there is nothing to tap afterwards, even with the app closed.

SET UP IN THREE STEPS
1. Connect your Flickr account. You sign in on Flickr's own page, so FlickrSyncr never sees your password.
2. Pick the folders to back up (Camera, Screenshots, WhatsApp, Downloads or any custom path) and a default Flickr album.
3. Turn on auto-upload. Wi-Fi only is on from the start. Add charging only if you like.

WHAT IT DOES
• Picked up in seconds. New photos and videos are queued the moment they land in a watched folder.
• Full resolution. Photos go up as the original files, EXIF included.
• Never uploads twice. Every upload carries a content fingerprint, so renamed files, a fresh install or a new phone are recognised and skipped.
• Keeps going in the background. Swiping the app away does not stop the queue, and monitoring comes back by itself after a reboot.
• Uploads on your terms. Wi-Fi only (Ethernet counts), charging only, and up to five uploads at a time. Waiting uploads resume as soon as you plug in or join Wi-Fi.
• Private by default. Choose Private, Friends & Family or Public, add default tags, and send everything to the album you pick.
• Notifications that say something. "14 photos backed up to Flickr", which file failed and why, and Pause or Stop right from the notification.

ALSO IN THE APP
• Media browser with upload status and filters
• Pinch-to-zoom viewer and inline video playback
• EXIF viewer, grouped by category
• Browse your Flickr albums
• Ignore items you never want backed up
• Light and dark mode
• Diagnostics and background status

A BACKUP, NOT A SYNC
Deleting a photo on your phone never deletes it from Flickr. FlickrSyncr only ever copies in one direction.

YOUR PHOTOS GO TO FLICKR, AND NOWHERE ELSE
FlickrSyncr has no servers of its own. Uploads travel from your phone straight to Flickr over HTTPS, and the app refuses unencrypted connections. Your sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on the device and excluded from cloud backups. Signing out wipes your upload history, folder choices and cached thumbnails from the phone.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Free. No subscription, no pro tier, no in-app purchases.
• Flickr Pro is recommended for a full camera-roll backup. A free Flickr account holds 1,000 photos and videos in total, and FlickrSyncr uploads privately by default, so that limit is reached quickly.
• Flickr accepts videos up to 1 GB and photos up to 200 MB. Anything larger is not uploaded, and the notification names the file.
• Some phones (Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus and others) restrict background apps. FlickrSyncr shows a warning on the dashboard with a shortcut to the setting that fixes it.
• Battery: Android decides when the app runs, and a notification appears only while it is actually uploading.

Help and bug reports: the FlickrSyncr Google Group at groups.google.com/g/flickrsyncr, or the contact form at windows-hq.com/get-in-touch. Settings → About → Diagnostics has a Copy diagnostics button that helps us see what is going on.

Requires Android 7.0 or later.

What’s new

Version 1.11.1 · Updated October 24, 2026

• Fixes a crash during long background uploads on Android 15 and newer. Uploads now wrap up cleanly, and anything left in the queue carries on with the next upload run. • Fixes a "Preparing upload…" notification that could come back on its own after your phone closed the app mid-upload, keeping the phone awake for nothing. It now clears itself. • Nothing changed in how your photos are found, checked for duplicates, or uploaded.
