Stories Book

Stories Book is a free, offline library of gentle children's stories your child can read and hear in nine languages — English, Amharic, Tigrinya, Afaan Oromoo, Spanish, French, Arabic, Urdu and Chinese.

Read the same story in two languages at once, one under the other — wonderful for growing up bilingual
Every story can be read or listened to, with the sentence being read gently highlighted
Works fully offline. No account, no sign-up, nothing to lose
A calm, book-like design with no timers, streaks or pressure — just stories
Mark each story Not started, Started, Reading or Completed, and earn a quiet star for each one finished
Bedtime mode dims the colours and hides ads for a soft wind-down
Made for families: a parental gate guards settings and any link that leaves the app, no personal information is collected, and on iPhone and iPad there are no third-party ads at all. Stories are retold from public-domain folk tales and fables from around the world.
