About Radio DUT

RadioDUT is the official in-house radio station of the Durban University of Technology (DUT). The mission of the radio station is to provide quality information and entertainment that speaks directly to the needs of the DUT community.

RadioDUT is a diverse, vibrant, and well-informed radio station that seeks to empower students before, during and after their academic life. Radio DUT aims to meet the needs of a young and active youth, graduates entering the world of work, prospective students, and individuals of the general society.

RadioDUT is a student centered radio station; it’s all about the student. Its objective is to support the holistic development of students through the provision of useful content that enhances the learning experience of all students.

About The audience we serve:

Our audience is educated, brand conscious, aspirational and information hungry. 57% of our audience is male & 43% are female, 60 % residing in Durban, 30 % Pietermaritzburg & 10 % global between the ages of 18-25. We serve 23 000 students of the Durban University of Technology (DUT).
Platform statistics:
Online radio= quality of listener rather than quantity. 21% of students have access to WIFI for 24 hours daily meanwhile 79 % have access to WIFI 11 hours daily (8:00am -18:00pm).
