SkyCast Pilot is a fast, focused aviation weather lookup tool for general aviation pilots, student pilots, and CFIs. Pull a current METAR, the latest TAF, nearby PIREPs, active SIGMETs and AIRMETs, and winds aloft for any ICAO airport in seconds — with offline-friendly caching so a flaky cell signal at the FBO doesn't leave you guessing.

WHAT YOU GET

• METAR — current observations with FAA-aligned flight-category color coding (VFR / MVFR / IFR / LIFR), decoded ceiling, visibility, wind, altimeter, and raw text side-by-side.
• TAF — full forecast period with each FM/BECMG/TEMPO group called out, plus a freshness indicator so you know how stale the data is.
• PIREPs — pilot reports near your selected airport, filtered by radius, showing turbulence, icing, and cloud tops the way other pilots saw it.
• SIGMETs & AIRMETs — domestic and international advisories with valid windows highlighted.
• Winds Aloft — forecast winds and temperatures at altitude, parsed from the raw FB product into a clean, scannable table.

OFFLINE & RELIABLE

A two-layer cache (in-memory + on-device database) keeps your last successful pull available when the network drops. Per-product TTLs match how often each product actually updates, so you're not fooled by stale SIGMETs or yesterday's TAF.
