About Barkdoku: Dog Sudoku Puzzle
Barkdoku is a sudoku-style logic puzzle with dogs instead of numbers, for people who like
the thinking part and not the hurry.
Every board is one quiet question: where does each dog sleep? The block is divided into
fenced yards, and three rules decide everything.
One dog per yard. One dog per street and one per avenue, never two in the same line. And
dogs that can see each other bark, so no two dogs may sit side by side, not even corner
to corner.
That is the whole game. No numbers to add up, nothing to memorise, and every board has
exactly one answer you can reach by pure logic. Guessing is never needed.
HOW IT PLAYS
Double-tap a square to settle a dog there. A single tap rules a square out, and you can
drag your finger to rule out a whole run at once. Not sure yet? Pencil mode turns a tap
into a question mark, a maybe you can come back to. Three barks wake the block, so the
pressure is real, but no clock is ever running and nothing is taken away while you are
away.
Stuck? A hint points at the one square the rules have already decided and tells you why,
in a sentence. From level twenty-one the mailman will walk a dog home for you.
THE LADDER
Level one is a four by four block you will finish in under a minute. The board grows one
step at a time, to five, to six, to seven, and by level seventy you are solving a full
nine by nine. Each level is built from its own number, so level seven is the same block
for every player on every device, forever, and the puzzles keep coming after that.
WHAT YOU COLLECT
Finished blocks earn biscuits, and biscuits buy dogs. A dalmatian, a corgi, a husky, a
pug, a poodle: pick the one you want and the whole board is drawn in your dog. Nothing in
there costs real money.
There is a Daily Challenge every day, the same seven by seven board for everybody, with a
streak that remembers how many days in a row you have shown up and forgives one missed day
a week.
WHY YOU MIGHT LIKE IT
- One solution per board, always reachable by logic, never by guessing
- A daily puzzle shared with every other player, and a streak worth keeping
- Six dogs to unlock with biscuits you earn by playing
- Plays offline, on a plane, in a waiting room, with no account to make
- No timer, no lives, no energy bar, nothing that expires while you are away
- Pencil marks, coordinates and a clear button, the tools a logic puzzle owes you
Barkdoku is in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese and
Korean, and it picks your language by itself the first time it starts.
Settle the dogs. Take your time.
