Weather WBGT Global

Weather WBGT Global is a professional-grade heat stress monitoring application designed to estimate the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT).

The heat stress index (WBGT: Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) is estimated by this software in compliance with ISO 7243:2017 “Ergonomics of the thermal environment — Assessment of heat stress using the WBGT (wet bulb globe temperature) index”. The estimation is based on a semi-physical model and real-time weather data provided by OpenWeather.

This app helps work supervisors, sports coaches, and individuals assess heat risks and manage work-rest intervals effectively.

[1. Key Features]
• Dual Mode Estimation: Computes both Outdoor and Indoor WBGT tailored to your specific environment.
• Workload Customization: Select from multiple physical workload classes (Class 0 to Class 4) aligned with international ergonomic frameworks.
• Heat Acclimatization Toggle: Adjusts reference limits dynamically based on whether users are acclimatized or unacclimatized to heat.
• Data Integration: Fetches real-time weather data (temperature, humidity, wind speed, and GHI) seamlessly via OpenWeather.

[2. Privacy & Data Handling]
• On-Device Processing: Your settings and input data are processed entirely on your local device.
• No Data Tracking: No personal tracking or continuous background location logging is performed.

[3. System Requirements]
Android 8.0 or higher

[4. Acquisition of Weather Data]
The weather information displayed by this software utilizes the API provided by OpenWeather.

• Weather Data Source: OpenWeather

[6. Acknowledgments]
In this project, we developed an estimation model for the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) designated the Watanabe-Gemini Model 1 and a corresponding application by utilizing Google's AI model, Gemini, as a co-development partner. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the technical support provided, particularly regarding object-oriented design and the construction of the estimation logic for the heat stress index using meteorological data.
