About Locutor: your AI radio
Locutor turns whatever you're listening to into your own radio station.
Play music on Spotify, YouTube Music or anywhere: Locutor recognizes the song that's playing —from the title and artist, without a microphone and without recording anything— and an AI host comments on it out loud, like a real radio station.
Before commenting, it checks reference sources like Genius, Wikipedia, MusicBrainz, Last.fm and iTunes to find the kind of fact a real fan would know: what the song is about, the story behind it, the year, the label, who wrote it…
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Choose your host or create your own: The Music Lover, The Professor, The Critic, The Producer, The Lyricist, The Devotee… each with its own way of hearing music.
• Manual or automatic: tap for a comment, or let it comment on every new song by itself, at the start or at the end.
• You decide how much it talks: just song and artist, a short comment, a real review or, with Premium, long and in-depth.
• Synced lyrics: highlights the line playing right now.
• Free neural voices, or your own AI's voice. One per host.
• My summary, My week and My top, a music quiz about YOUR songs, ask the host anything or write a song.
• Share each comment as a card, with its sources, or as audio.
YOUR AI, YOUR CHOICE (you can start free)
Locutor runs on your own AI key. There are free, no-card options like Gemini or Groq (OpenAI or Claude work too). Save several: if one runs out of quota, the app switches to another on its own.
PREMIUM (optional)
Long, in-depth comments, AI comments with no daily cap, unlimited music quiz and premium voices. Cancel anytime from Google Play.
PRIVACY
Locutor does not use the microphone and does not record sound: it only reads the title and artist of what's already playing. To do that it asks for notification access and, if you want, permission to send you reminders. Your key is stored encrypted on your device, never on our servers, and you can erase everything from Settings > Delete my data. No ads, no data selling.
Comments are generated by AI and may contain errors.
Also available for Windows on the Microsoft Store.
