About WordPith
Every word you know is built out of older words.
WordPith gives you one word a day and five guesses to find the pieces it is made of. Not letters — roots. TELE and SCOPE. PHOTO and GRAPH. Get it, and those roots take root: they grow into a garden you come back and water, a few seconds at a time, on the days the spacing says they are ready.
That is the whole game. It takes about a minute. Then you know why a thermometer and a thermostat are cousins, and you can read a word you have never seen before.
One word a day, free, forever. No ads. No account. No streak-shaming. Miss a day and your streak forgives you once a week, because a habit you can break is a habit you can keep.
A garden, not a score. Every root you meet becomes a leaf. Leaves get thirsty on a spacing schedule, and watering one is a four-second question. This is spaced repetition without the flashcard deck and without the guilt.
Go deeper when you want to. Nineteen packs: Medical Terms, Anatomy, Pharmacology, Science & Tech, Space & Astronomy, Psychology, Mythology, Phobias & Manias, Government & Politics, Law & Legal Latin, Spanish and French cognates, Spelling Bee roots, the free Academic Word List, and exam packs for the SAT/ACT, GRE/GMAT, TOEFL/IELTS, the Indian competitive exams and the MCAT/NCLEX. Every pack feeds the same garden: a root you learn in Medical is the same leaf you water from the daily word.
Etymology you can trust. Origins are checked against Wiktionary and the Online Etymology Dictionary, and every clue is written by hand. Where the scholarship disagrees, the note says so.
