About Apada Sahayak
Apada Sahayak is a free disaster risk reduction platform, initially for the Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh, India. It combines community, Government of India, and scientific knowledge to provide support across the full disaster cycle- before, during, and after hazard events. The app is designed and locally operated in partnership with Government of India Disaster Management Authorities. The app provides:
A user/community reporting tool for hazard events you witness – including event details and photograph upload facilities.
Real-time map viewing of recent and historical events – with options to filter by time and distance from your current location (if enabled, you can also be notified of any new reports added by other users in your local vicinity).
Access to historical flood data
Hazard awareness resources (including recommended "Do's and Dont's") to improve your understanding and resilience across a broad spectrum of potential hazard events
Emergency helpline access, and links to government services (designed with low-bandwidth rural environments accessibility in mind).
We note that user-generated content is provided for situational awareness and accuracy cannot be guaranteed / verified by the app development team.
