About DROSS.exe Escape Room Terror
Dross opened a file sent to him by a follower. It was called DROSS.exe. Now he's trapped inside the game, and someone called USER_0 has been waiting a long time for a new player.
DROSS.exe is a fan-made pixel art horror escape room adventure game, created as a tribute. You explore each scene, collect objects, combine them in your inventory, and solve puzzles to find your way out before time runs out. If the timer reaches zero, your game ends with it.
There are 7 levels, each a different corrupted file:
• Loading... – A dark cell, a flashlight, and a coded door.
• The Lost Episode – A 1994 children's program that was never aired. The host is a rabbit who doesn't blink.
• The Deep Web – A 2003 forum monitored by a moderator with a ban hammer.
• Cursed Cartridge – A colorful video game that rots the more you play it.
• 3:33 Broadcast – A late-night radio show with three rules you mustn't break.
• The Chat – Dross is live even though he hasn't started, and the chat knows things it shouldn't.
• USER_0 – The origin of it all. The file owner is waiting for you.
It's a classic point-and-click escape room, but with nine minigames along the way: deciphering a Morse code message, solving a very strange captcha, closing pop-up windows as fast as you can, escaping through a maze, or moderating a chat full of imposters, among others. You'll talk to characters who know things you don't (and not all of them are telling the truth), and at some point, the game will pretend to crash. In the end, you'll have to make a decision, and depending on your choice, you'll see one of two endings.
If you get stuck, you can ask for a hint; The first level of each game is free. The game saves automatically, so you can quit whenever you want, and you can play offline.
If you like creepypastas, scary games, puzzles, and pixel art horror, you'll love it. Best played with headphones and the lights off.
Warning: It contains jump scares, disturbing images, pixel art blood, and flickering screen effects. If you're sensitive to flickering lights, you can disable the "old screen" filter in Settings.
It's an unofficial game created by Dross fans as a tribute.
And if you ever receive a file with your name on it... don't open it.
