About Trailborn: Walking Game
Trailborn is a walking game played on a real map. Your phone counts your steps, and you use them to claim the streets around you. Every walk stays on the map.
You don't need to keep the game open. The step counter in your phone or your watch does the counting, and when you open Trailborn, your steps become metres and new roads.
HOW IT WORKS
• Walk the way you always do. Steps (and floors, if your phone counts them) become metres in the game.
• Spend those metres on real roads near you and explore your city street by street.
• Choose the route: the nearest roads, one continuous trail, or towards chests.
• Complete districts and watch your map of walked roads grow.
ONE WALK, THREE MODES
• Solo: your own map.
• Team: a shared map with your friends, plus team chat.
• Team War: win streets back from other teams and leave flags on the map with a message and a chest.
RACES AND SHARED GOALS
• Route races, or step races over 7, 14 or 30 days, solo or as a team.
• Community expeditions with rewards for everyone who adds their kilometres.
• Rankings, daily quests and new levels as your steps add up.
YOUR CHARACTER AND REWARDS
• Chests on the map and gear for your character.
• Bjørn, your guide dog, shares facts about real places and sums up your previous day.
• Estimated active calories, if you add your height and weight.
• Invite friends and earn rewards once they start walking.
WHERE THE STEPS COME FROM
With your permission, Trailborn reads steps and floors from Health Connect, so steps from a watch that saves them there count too. You can also use your phone's motion sensor. The game never writes anything to Health Connect.
ADS AND TRAILBORN+
The game is free. You only see an ad when you choose to watch one for a reward. Trailborn+ is an optional subscription with a daily chest, detailed stats and the option to organise your own races. Joining other players' races is free.
The name Trailborn comes from “trail born”: born on the trail.
Walk where it's safe and keep your eyes on the path, not on your phone.
Step outside and leave your mark on the map.
