Kilim Loom: Untangle Ropes

A tangle of wool lies on the felt, and the loom above it is waiting.

Pull a yarn that has nothing lying on top of it and the loom weaves it in, square by square, until a kilim (a handwoven Anatolian rug) is finished. Every pattern is a real motif from Anatolian weaving, with its own name and meaning: Water Path, Wolf's Mouth, Ram's Horn, Tree of Life, Hands on Hips, Evil Eye Charm and many more.

How it plays
• Tap a free yarn, one with no other yarn lying across it.
• The loom asks for colors in order. A long yarn weaves many squares, a short one only a few.
• A color the loom doesn't want yet waits on the peg and weaves itself in when its turn comes.
• The peg holds two. Fill it with the wrong colors and the loom jams, so think one pull ahead.
• Undo and restart are always free.
