Wander Guard

WanderGuard is a personal safety application designed to help families stay informed when a loved one may need assistance.

The app allows users to define a safe geographic area (safe zone) on a map and enable location monitoring. Once activated, WanderGuard monitors the device location in the background to detect when the user leaves the defined area. This functionality works even when the app is not actively open, ensuring reliable awareness at all times.

When the safe zone boundary is crossed, WanderGuard automatically sends an SMS alert from the device owner’s phone number to preconfigured family members or trusted contacts. The message includes the current location of the device, allowing contacts to quickly understand where the user is and take appropriate action if needed.

Key features:

Safe zone (geofence) setup using a map interface

Background location monitoring after explicit user activation

Automatic SMS alerts when the safe zone is exited

Location details included in alert messages

Contact management for family members or trusted contacts

Simple controls to enable or disable monitoring at any time

WanderGuard is built with transparency and user control in mind. Location access is used exclusively to provide the safety alert functionality described above and only after the user enables monitoring. SMS functionality is used solely to deliver safety notifications and is never used for advertising, analytics, or promotional messaging.

This application does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or healthcare services. It is intended as a personal safety and awareness tool to support families and trusted contacts by providing timely location-based alerts.
