Professional, team-based image acquisition with powerful keyword searching
The co-founders of PictaBase LLC are both motion picture and television industry veterans. The original idea blossomed from the realization that a more robust solution for taking and sorting motion picture "continuity" photos was needed (more on this in a moment). But, we quickly realized the features of this app had a more universal appeal in any field with sortable image assets, such as Real Estate, Collectibles, Museum Curation, Writing, Forensics, Scientific Research, Travel, etcetera.
To explain the concept, let's go back to movie "continuity" as an example. Since movies are often shot out of sequence, it falls upon the crew to make sure that things like makeup, props, wardrobe and locations correctly match throughout the movie. If our actor gets bruised in Scene 10, that bruise might need to be carried thru to Scenes 12 and 15, for instance. This app then allows teams of users to create categories such as Scene Number, Character Name, Location, Story Day (or anything else that makes sense) and then add any number of appropriate terms within each.
So in the case of our actor and his bruise, we might start by adding Scene Number and Character Name categories, into which we could add Scene 10, Scene 12, Scene 15 and we could add our character's name, Tom Crews, into the Character Name category.
From that point on, any time we search for any of those scenes, or Tom's name, those images will be returned. You can search for ANY of them or ALL of them, and you can share them with your teammates and discuss them via either text messaging or video chat.
Similarly, a realtor could make categories for School District, or House Color, or Number of Bedrooms, etc, and neatly organize and sort images based on custom categories and terms that fit his or her needs.
Category lists can also be saved as templates for future projects.
The flexibility and ease of use is revolutionary.
