Katana: Knife Collection

Katana helps you organize your knife collection and explore the people, places, and craft behind Japanese and kitchen knives. Built for the knife collector, home cook, and chef, it brings knife collecting, private records, and source-backed Edge Index research together.

MAKE YOUR COLLECTION YOUR OWN
Record each knife's maker, steel, dimensions, purchase details, and personal notes. Add photographs and adjust their framing while preserving the originals. Organize the knives you own, your archive, and your wishlist.

EXPLORE JAPANESE KNIVES WITH EDGE INDEX
Discover makers, workshops, steels, knife types, techniques, and regions. Read complete maker profiles and regional articles with their supporting sources. Explore the regional map and save research to your private reading list. Public research stays separate from your personal knife records. Regional articles are included for offline reading and refreshed with app updates.

ADD KNIVES YOUR WAY
Enter a knife manually, import a supported retailer page, scan a receipt, or bring in a spreadsheet. Review the information before saving. Katana also supports scanning and claiming compatible digital knife passports.

KEEP YOUR COLLECTION WITH YOU
Sign in to the same Katana account on your devices to synchronize your collection and saved research. Clear status and recovery choices help you manage interrupted connections and changes made on more than one device.

MEET OTHER KNIFE ENTHUSIASTS
Explore Social by topic, ask a question, or share a collection story. View shared collections, inspect photos, give Kudos, save posts, follow discussions, and contribute field notes. Reporting and member-blocking controls are available.

SHARE BY CHOICE
Social is optional. Choose a display name and accept the rules to join. Joining never publishes your collection. Review and confirm each post; purchase information and notes are excluded unless you choose to include them. Retailers do not receive automatic access to your collection. Follow retailers independently and choose whether to allow their updates or share contact details and interests.

GET STARTED AND STAY IN CONTROL
A skippable guide introduces the essentials. Search in-app help or prepare feedback from Account. Export selected knives as CSV, Excel, or a photo PDF. Manage your preferences or permanently delete your account from within the app.
