About Drowsly: Falling-Asleep Alert
For the nights you stay up later than planned.
It's late, you're in bed with your phone, and your eyes start to close. Drowsly is made for exactly those late-night moments. During the active hours you set, it quietly looks for signs you're fading, and if it finds them, it can nudge you while the screen is still glowing.
No camera. No microphone. Everything happens on your device — no account, no data collected. Your nights stay yours.
How it works
• Set your active hours — the late hours when you want Drowsly on. It turns off when they end.
• Drowsly runs during your active hours, even while you scroll in other apps.
• For dozing warnings, Drowsly starts with a silent pop-up. If you don't respond, later steps can add vibration, optional sound, and a full-screen wake call.
Alarm sound, and warnings over other apps
• An alarm sound, if you turn sound on. When a warning escalates during a session, Drowsly can play an alarm tone — including the optional phone-drop alarm, set off by a detected drop rather than by a time you scheduled.
• A full-screen wake call. The last step can appear full-screen, including over the lock screen, when Android permits it. If it doesn't, the warning arrives as a heads-up notification instead, subject to your notification settings.
• Warnings over other apps. While a session is running, the phone is unlocked and you're using another app, Drowsly can show the current warning over that app — if you grant Android's "Display over other apps" access. It stays visible until you tap it, lock the phone, or the session ends. Without that access the notification may collapse quickly, so the warning is felt but not seen. You can turn this off in Drowsly's Settings.
• Drowsly uses these only for dozing warnings — never for ads, promotions or unrelated notifications.
Quiet by design
• Warnings get stronger step by step if you don't respond.
• Drowsly's own screen fades to gray when it detects signs you may be dozing.
• Pause playback if you fade mid-podcast, so you don't lose your place.
• Partner silent mode uses no sound, with gentler vibrations before the final wake call.
• An honest morning report — awareness, never a scorecard.
• Your full night history, and your choice of wake sound.
Who it's for
If you read, scroll or watch in bed and keep waking at 3am with the phone still in your hand — or on the floor — Drowsly is built for you. It's made for people who doze off with a phone in hand.
Honest about what it is
Drowsly is an assistive aid — not a guarantee, and not a medical device. It can't catch every situation and it can't promise to wake you. It's here to help you catch yourself on a late night; you stay in charge, and you should never rely on Drowsly to keep you safe.
Subscription
Everything above — including the wake nudge itself — needs an annual subscription or, while it's offered, Founder Lifetime, a one-time unlock. New subscribers start the annual plan with a 3-day free trial. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the first annual charge; otherwise the annual subscription begins when the trial ends. Without either, detection stays off.
Common questions
Does it use the camera?
No. Drowsly never uses the camera or the microphone. Everything happens entirely on your device.
Does it need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no login, and Drowsly never sends your data to us.
Will it wake me every time?
No — and Drowsly never claims it will. It's an assistive aid, not a guarantee.
Does it work while I sleep all night?
Drowsly runs during the active hours you set, then turns off.
A calmer end to your late nights.
