TV Remote helps you control your own compatible Android TV or Google TV on the same local Wi-Fi network. Discover a TV, complete the pairing prompt shown on that TV, then use familiar remote controls from your phone or tablet.

Control compatible TVs you own or are authorized to use

Private by design

TV discovery, pairing, and remote commands are limited to devices reachable on your local network. Pairing and remote messaging use encrypted connections. If you use optional push-to-talk, microphone audio is streamed in real time only to the TV you selected for its voice feature. This app is not a way to control TVs over the internet or TVs that you do not own or have permission to use.

Feature availability varies by TV model, Android/Google TV version, connected service, and local network configuration. Both devices must be connected to the same local Wi-Fi network.

The complete remote-control feature set remains available for free. On phones and tablets, the free tier is supported by carefully limited Google AdMob ads. A banner can appear only on a content-bearing Cast browsing screen when no cast is active. A preloaded full-screen ad may appear only after you disconnect from a TV or stop and leave a cast session. Full-screen ads are limited to three successful displays in any rolling 24 hours, with at least fifteen minutes between them. An unavailable ad never delays an action, and ads never interrupt discovery, pairing, connection, remote-control commands, or active casting.

Billed once a year through Google Play at the price shown. The subscription renews automatically every year until you cancel.
