Whether you are deeply rooted in Carnatic music, practicing Hindustani classical, or seeking a deeply resonant drone for yoga and mindfulness, Maestro Tanpura delivers the authentic, studio-quality sound of a real acoustic Tambura straight to your device.

Say goodbye to synthetic, robotic tones. Maestro Tanpura features meticulously recorded strings with a rich, mesmerizing resonance and overtones of a traditional Tambura.

Key Features:

🎵 Studio-Quality Acoustic Sounds Experience the true resonance of an electronic Tambura. We’ve meticulously processed real hardware recordings so you can feel every pluck, overtone, and vibration, providing the perfect Shruti for your music.

🎵 All 12 Chromatic Pitches (Shruti) Easily select your base pitch (Sa) from C to B. Pitch selections prominently display the standard "Katte" (1 to 7) notations for quick and easy reference during your practice sessions.

🎵 Fine-Tuning & Microtones Every voice is different. Use the precise fine-tuning slider to adjust the pitch in micro-cents so the Shruti matches perfectly with your vocal range or instrument (flute, violin, mridangam, veena, sitar, or tabla).

🎵 Carnatic & Hindustani Styles Switch seamlessly between Carnatic (South Indian) and Hindustani (North Indian) pluck styles. The app accurately reproduces the distinct string timing, rhythms, and nuances required by different classical traditions.

🎵 Customizable Panchamam (Pa), Madhyamam (Ma), & Nishadam (Ni) Easily adjust the tuning of the first string to perfectly match your raga. Choose between Pa (Panchamam), Ma (Madhyamam), Ni (Nishadam), or turn the first string off completely for specific scales.

🎵 Dual Tambura Mode Replicate a professional concert setup by enabling Dual Tambura mode, giving you the immersive, thick drone effect of two instruments playing in perfect sync.

🎵 5th String (Additional Ni/Pa) Add a 5th string to your drone for complex ragas that require extra harmonic depth.

🎵 Tempo & Tone Control Adjust the tempo of the plucks from a slow, meditative pace to a faster concert speed. Use the global Tone control to seamlessly transition between a deep, resonant bass and a bright, piercing treble.

🎵 Dark, Light & System Themes Designed to save your battery during long riyaz (practice) sessions. Maestro Tanpura includes a beautiful Dark Mode that looks great on stage and reduces eye strain.

🎵 Completely Free & Offline Maestro Tanpura works 100% offline. Practice anywhere, anytime - no internet connection required.
