About Naru: Notifications on iPhone
When you carry both an iPhone and an Android phone, you miss whatever arrives
on the one that isn't in your hand.
Naru sends notifications from your Android phone to your iPhone.
■ Before you start
· You need both phones. This app is the sending side (Android).
· Install the Naru app from the App Store on your iPhone, and pair once by QR.
· It's one-way. There is no way to send iPhone notifications to Android —
iOS has no API for reading another app's notifications at all.
■ Decide how much each app sends
Don't send / App name only / Include sender / Include message.
Pick one of the four levels for each app.
The decision happens on this phone, before anything is sent.
Whatever you choose not to send never leaves the phone.
■ Verification codes can be hidden
Turn on "Hide verification codes" and codes are replaced with ●●●●●●
no matter which level you picked. The original digits never leave this phone.
Worth turning on if you mirror a bank or an authenticator app. It's free.
■ Notifications are locked before they leave
· The two phones exchange keys directly by QR. No server involved
· Every notification uses a new key. Past notifications can't be reopened
· The relay only carries the sealed parcel. It cannot open it
· Notification content is never stored on the server
■ No sign-up
No email, no password, no phone number.
There is no account, so nothing piles up in one.
■ Naru Pro
The free plan keeps working.
Free — up to 3 apps, app name only on your iPhone
Pro — no app limit, sender and message shown as well
One purchase, not a subscription.
The free plan sends less off your phone. What Pro sells is convenience,
not safety.
■ Why notification access is required
To forward a notification the app has to read it, and on Android that is only
possible through notification access. This app does nothing without it.
Only the apps you picked are sent, and only up to the level you set.
Nothing is kept on the device, and nothing is used for ads or analytics.
■ Permissions
· Notification access — reads the notifications to forward (core function)
· Camera — scans the QR on your iPhone screen, once
· Ignore battery optimization — keeps delivery from lagging with the screen off
· Internet — sends encrypted notifications to the relay
on the one that isn't in your hand.
