About Curio: Collectible Identifier

What is that thing, and what is it worth?

Curio answers both from a photograph. Point your camera at a coin, a cast
iron pan, a piece of pressed glass, an old hand tool or a book, and get back
what it most likely is, the details that identify it, and a range of what
comparable items have been changing hands for.

Then keep it. Everything you scan goes into a catalogue on your phone, with
folders, notes, search, and a running total for the whole collection.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT DOES NOT KNOW

Most apps in this category advertise an accuracy figure. We do not publish
one, because no honest single number exists across every object, in every
condition, photographed on every kitchen table.

What Curio does instead is show you its uncertainty:

- Every result carries a confidence band, not a percentage.
- When the photo does not show enough, Curio says so and tells you what to
change, rather than naming the closest thing it can think of. A confident
wrong answer is the worst thing an app like this can hand you.
- Alternatives come with the specific feature that tells them apart, so you
can settle it by looking at the object.
- Anything the model could not read from the photo is marked as not legible
instead of quietly filled in.
- Every value is a range with its source and its date attached: recent
completed sales, published guide pricing, or the model's own estimate. If
we have no basis we trust, you get no number, because an invented range is
worse than an empty field.

WHAT YOU GET

- Guided capture. The app asks for the angles that actually identify the
item: the base, the maker's mark, the reverse, the title page.
- A blur and lighting check before a scan is spent.
- A catalogue that lives on your device, with folders, favourites, notes and
search.
- A collection total, with unvalued items counted separately so they never
quietly move the number.
- CSV and JSON export, so your catalogue is yours and portable.
- Works offline for everything except a new scan.

YOUR PHOTOS DO NOT STICK AROUND

- No account. No sign-up, no email, no password. There is nothing to make.
- Your collection lives on your phone and is never uploaded.
- Photos are shrunk and stripped of location data on your device before
anything is sent, and the uploaded copy is deleted the moment the answer
comes back.
- Only optional rewarded ads, never forced. Paid plans are ad-free.

PLANS

- Free: 5 scans a month, plus 1 free scan when you set the app up.
- Yearly: $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial.
- Weekly: $6.99 a week.
- Lifetime: $79.99 once, no subscription.

Fair use applies to every plan, paid ones included: up to 50 scans a day and
300 a month. We would rather print the numbers than let you discover them.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before
the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Google Play account settings.
Prices are in US dollars; Google Play converts and adds any tax.

PLEASE READ THIS PART

Curio is a reference tool. It is not an appraisal, it is not an
authentication, and it is not a professional grade. It produces nothing an
insurer, a grading service, a court or an auction house will accept as
evidence, and nothing in it is financial advice. It has only ever seen a
photograph: it cannot weigh your object, feel its edges, test its metal or
spot a good forgery.

If money, insurance, tax or an estate depends on the answer, have a qualified
specialist look at the object in person. Curio is a good way to work out
whether that is worth doing.

Curio is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or
sponsored by any mint, manufacturer, foundry, publisher, grading service or
auction house whose products it can identify. Product names and trade marks
belong to their owners.
