Crestrunner

Crestrunner is a personal watercraft racing game built around one idea: water you can see straight through.

Every course carves its bed along the racing line, and every level hides a shallow bar on that line where the bed rises to within a couple of metres of the surface. The view is on the line, not off to one side, and it arrives at racing speed with your hull over it.

RACE PAST REAL CITIES
Twelve worlds, each set off a real city with its landmarks on the skyline: Rio de Janeiro, Venice, New York and more. Moored yachts, working ferries, flags in the wind, a cheering crowd on the start pontoons, and dolphins, fish and birds out on the water.

120 LEVELS, THREE KINDS OF WATER
Twelve worlds of ten levels mixing sea, lake and river courses. Sea swell lifts and drops the whole craft under you. Lake water is flatter and rewards a clean line. Rivers push: the current works on you the whole lap and the banks do not move out of the way.

REAL CRASHES YOU CAN FEEL
Your craft is solid, and so is everything around it: rivals, buoys, gate balloons, moored boats, pontoons, quay walls and cliffs. Bump and you lose speed; hit hard and you crash. On your phone you feel it too, with vibration you can turn off in Settings. Hop a trick and you can sail right over a buoy.

LIVE COMMENTARY
Two commentators, a female and a male voice, call the race as it happens: the start, position changes, laps, penalties, crashes and the finish. Spoken on your device; nothing is sent online.

RACE RULES
Miss a gate and it costs you three seconds. Get put back on the course and it costs two. A live race tower shows the order, and once every rival is home you have 30 seconds to cross the line.

FIVE DIFFICULTY TIERS
Each tier changes the water and the field: bigger waves, a narrower corridor, stronger current, three laps instead of two, three rivals growing to seven, quicker rivals and tighter gold times. Tier 1 is calm and forgiving. Tier 5 is heavy swell down the tightest corridor against a full field.

SIX SKIES
Bright noon, golden hour, overcast, storm, dawn and night, with city lights coming on after dark.

FIFTEEN TRICKS
Tap TRICK at speed to pop off the water, or launch off a wave crest. Backflip, Superman, barrel rolls, tabletop and a 360 to start; frontflips, corkscrews, double backflips and 720 spins unlock as you climb. Landed tricks and riding in a rival's wake charge your boost.

EASY TO PICK UP
Tap GAS once and it stays on for the whole race; tap BOOST for a burst. Steer with the on-screen arrows, the stick or by tilting. A How to Play guide explains everything in plain words, and Training teaches it step by step.

MEDALS, STARS AND YOUR OWN BEST TIME
Gold, silver and bronze on every level. Your personal best is stored on your device, and the HUD shows a live delta against it while you race.

PLAYS OFFLINE
No account and no sign-in. Every level is playable with no connection, and your progress stays on your device.

ADS AND PREMIUM
Crestrunner is free and shows advertisements. The optional Premium subscription removes them: US$9.99 a year (local prices vary), renewing automatically each year until you cancel in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions. Premium gives no gameplay advantage; every level can be reached without paying.
