Tumbler: Lockpick Safe Cracker

Ivy Marsh runs a 24-hour locksmith van in the harbor city of Port Calder. Her father Walt, a famous safecracker who went straight, is serving twelve years for a bank job at Halvorsen & Gray that he swears he never did. By day Ivy takes honest calls. By night, retired thief Augie Bell needs her hands, and every job brings her one vault closer to the private ledger that names who really did it.

FEEL EVERY PIN SET
Real lock picking turned into a two-thumb puzzle. Your left thumb sets the tension, your right thumb works the pick. Springy pins fall back, the stiff one is binding. Lift it gently until the gap meets the shear line and click, it sets. Push too fast and it oversets. Too much tension and your pick snaps.

- Pin tumblers, from garden padlocks to front doors
- High-security cylinders with spool pins that fake a set, and serrated pins that click and lie

DAY CALLS AND NIGHT JOBS
Around 100 story locks across 10 chapters. Day calls pay the bills: locked-out neighbors, a grandfather's sea chest, a car with the keys inside. Night jobs chain three to five locks against the guard's round, with a noise meter that triggers the alarm. What Ivy keeps, and what she leaves for Detective Rosa Quint, decides which of three endings you get.
