Fruitty Comb is an offline-first hive inspection workbench for backyard beekeepers, 4-H entomology teams, community-college apiary labs, pollinator-garden volunteers, and mentor beekeepers running club apiaries. Instead of a bee diary, it turns every inspection into a frame-by-frame judgment: open a hive body, see ten vertical frame slots, and mark what is really in the cells.

MARK REAL CELLS, FRAME BY FRAME
Each frame opens onto a hex wax-cell grid. A paint-style brush marks sealed brood, open brood, eggs, capped honey, the pollen arch, drone comb, and queen cells. An undo/redo stack lets you correct a stroke, and a magnifier loupe helps you read a tight brood nest without crouching over the box.

BROOD PATTERN DENSITY ENGINE
Every marked frame becomes a sealed-brood percentage. Nine frames roll up into a heatmap ribbon across the box, and a colony-level compaction score flags shotgun patterns before they cost you a queen.

VARROA WASH COUNTER
Tap to tick each mite found in an alcohol wash or sugar roll of 300 bees. The app does the mites-per-100 math automatically and shows season-aware reference bands so you can see where your colony sits. This is a record-and-reasoning tool, not a diagnosis — it never prescribes a treatment.

QUEEN-RIGHTNESS VERDICT
A rule engine weighs brood compaction, egg presence, queen cells, drone brood, temperament, and stored stores into one of five verdicts, then gives you a single next-action card: add a super, watch for swarming, treat, requeen, or feed.

HIVE REGISTRY
Record hive name, apiary stand, box and super stack, entrance reducer size, queen year, international queen mark color (white, yellow, red, green, blue), temperament rating, and a per-hive photo taken at the stand.

INSPECTION CADENCE SCHEDULER
Set reminders for 7–10 day brood checks, 30-day varroa monitoring, super additions, swarm-season inspections, and winter-prep checkpoints so nothing slips past.

SEASONAL TASK DECK
40+ seeded tasks across spring build-up, swarm season, honey harvest, late-season mite work, and winter cluster prep — attach any task to a hive and keep its completion history.

FEEDING ROUNDS
Log syrup ratio, fondant patties, and pollen-substitute rounds per hive with amounts and dates, so you can see what a colony has actually received.

Your next due hive, latest brood score, current varroa load, and a one-tap "Start inspection" deep link, right on the home screen.

EXPORT AND TRENDS
Generate a multi-page PDF inspection report — hive card, frame heatmap, varroa trend, task history — through the system print pipeline, or export every record to CSV. Line charts of brood density and mite load across a hive's history help you spot a colony sliding before it crashes.
