DUBSIREN 27

DUBSIREN 27 isn't just a radio: it's a radio you can dub.

Fifty live reggae, dub, ska, soca and Caribbean stations, and underneath them a real dub mixing board, built to be played while the music runs. Push the echo into a bassline, drop a siren on top, pull the whole thing down to the floor: the sound you hear is the sound you make.

ON AIR

Fifty live streams, on five shelves:
• Reggae — 25 stations, from Kingston to London, from Toronto to São Paulo
• Dub — 7 stations: roots, steppers and sound system
• Soca — 5 stations: Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Vincent
• Ska — 5 stations from the British and German scenes
• French Caribbean — 8 stations: zouk, dancehall and kompa from Martinique and Guadeloupe

Every stream was tested one by one before it made the list. Everything runs over HTTPS, no exceptions.

THE MIXING BOARD

A real audio processing chain runs on the radio stream, in real time:
• Three-band EQ: low, mid, high
• Dub delay with feedback, the heart of the genre
• Constant-power panning and an output fader
• Needle VU meter and peak ladder
• Five dub siren pads played with your fingers: press and it sings, let go and it dies away

THE PRO STUDIO

Seven modules, each free to try for 24 hours:
• Pro EQ — six parametric bands, shaped by hand on the curve
• Pro Siren — the siren becomes a synth: waveforms, LFO, gate
• Pro Pitch — fine pitch, octaves and varispeed on the stream
• Pro Space — a real room to place the sound in, plus ping-pong echo
• Pro Sub — bass enhancer and mono bass synth
• Pro Tape — record the mix to stereo WAV, with radio and sirens on two separate channel faders
• Pro Decks — two decks for your own tracks, with ±8% pitch, a constant-power crossfader and the board's effects

ONE PAYMENT

No subscription. A single purchase unlocks everything, for good, and follows your Google account. Paid modules can be tried for 24 hours before you decide.

WHAT THE APP DOESN'T DO

No account to create. No password. No personal data sent to the developer: no analytics, no crash reports, no profile. Your settings stay on your phone, and your tracks stay where you put them — the app plays them without ever copying them.

Playback continues in the background, with controls on the lock screen.

Made by a sound system lover, for anyone who thinks a radio is there to be played as much as listened to.
