Tonya Lewter-Gordon is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of La Vie Development Services, Inc. which is a Certified MWBE Business Development Firm for New York State, City, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The company’s diversified services include Conference & Tradeshow Coordination, Event Planning, Financing, Bonding, Employee Background Screening Investigations, Sports & Event Management, MWBE Outreach & Contract Oversight and Compliance, Website & Mobile Application Design and Development, Marketing and Advertising.
Ms. Lewter-Gordon, Executive Director of New Millennium Development Services, Inc. established the Long Island Community & Economic Development Conference. This event is L.I. Region’s Largest Procurement Conference. The forum brings together over 1,000 small businesses including Minority & Women Business Enterprises and Veteran-Owned Businesses with 150 contract decision-makers from government agencies and major corporations. We take great pride with the collaborative efforts of State University of New York, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Suffolk County Steve Bellone. This 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization also provides the development of workforce housing. Our organization’s mission statement is the revitalization of communities through economic development and the creation of affordable housing opportunities.

Her entrepreneurship began with Lewter-Scott Travel Associates, Inc. Her mother, Ruth Fuller-Lewter began this business in 1966. She facilitated domestic and international travel arrangements for thousands of loyal clients. Tonya contributes a great deal of her business experience from the training she received at this fifty years old institution.

Ms. Lewter-Gordon’s corporate experience was Market Sales Management with Allstate Insurance Company. Her background included training in Claims, Customer Service, Operations and Underwriting Departments. She was responsible for the sales management of insurance agents. During this tenure she formulated the “Quick Start Sales Training Program”. Tonya was awarded Key Manager and Territory Top Market Sales Manager.

She graduated from Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia with a B.A. in English and Political Science.

Tonya Lewter-Gordon has established herself as a community based organization director, entrepreneur, speaker and a voice for her generation in business and economic development.
