Veterinary Myology

Veterinary Myology is the study of the muscular system of animals, primarily focusing on domesticated and wild mammals. It involves the examination and analysis of muscles, their structures, functions, and relationships with other body systems, as well as their role in animal movement, posture, and behavior. Veterinarians and veterinary technicians may use knowledge of myology to diagnose and treat muscular-related injuries and diseases in animals, as well as to identify and analyze muscle tissue in pathological and forensic investigations. Understanding myology is essential for surgical procedures involving muscle repair, reconstruction, or transplantation, as well as for designing rehabilitation programs for animals recovering from muscular injuries.
