About Boardwalk Stories from Sandy

This walking tour app uses GPS to bring you stories of people who were affected by Superstorm Sandy. It takes you along the boardwalk, beginning at Seaside Park, through Seaside Heights, and up to Ortley Beach.

You'll hear the stories of people who were on the scene when Sandy battered the shore, along with stories from people who are leading the rebuilding and you will hear from those who warn about rebuilding on a part of land so at risk from nature.

When engaged in the tour, your phone actually knows where you are! You can walk at your own speed, stop and listen to stories, but if you get bored -- and we're sure you won't -- you can continue on to another story.

If you're away from the boards, you can listen to the stories in armchair mode.
