Callijatra Calligraphy

Callijatra is a calligraphy studio for the scripts of Nepal — Ranjana and Prachalit (Nepal Lipi), the scripts of the Newa people, alongside Devanagari and the Latin alphabet.

It is built around one idea: a broad nib has an edge. Pull it one way and the stroke is thick; turn it and the line thins to a hairline. Callijatra draws that contrast the way a real pen does, so the letters come out with the weight and rhythm of the hand that has written them for a thousand years.

REAL NIBS AND BRUSHES
• Broad-edge nibs set for Ranjana, Prachalit and Devanagari, with the pen angle each script is written at

• Hair brushes that load, drag and run dry — from wet Acrylic to dry, splayed strokes
