Video Game Name Generator

Pull the lever. Get a video game name that should not exist.

Attack of the Radioactive Zamboni. Super Sleepy Ninja 64. Battlefield: Ballet Apocalypse. Three reels, 1,248 hand-picked words, and 69,393,510 names waiting behind them.

Tap a word you like and it locks. The other two keep spinning until the rest of the name catches up.

WHAT IT DOES

• Three-reel slot machine with a proper staggered stop
• Tap any word to lock it and reroll the others
• A genre and a plausible release year for every name
• Name of the Day — the same name for everyone, everywhere, with no server involved
• Streaks for coming back
• Favourites and history, searchable
• Fake box art you can share: five cover styles, three shapes
• Four themes: Modern, Arcade CRT, Neon and Paper
• Attract mode, so it can just sit there generating
• Shake to generate
• Stats, including what fraction of all possible names you have actually seen

FOR CLASSROOMS AND GAME JAMS

A full-screen timer that holds each name for 10 seconds to 2 minutes - enough to design a game around it. Or generate five at once and let the room vote. There is a family filter, on by default.

Teachers use it as a writing and design prompt. Game jams and hack-a-thons use it to hand a team a title before they have an idea.
