About Brasa: World Recipes by Cut
You bought chicken. Again. And you already know exactly how it's going to taste.
Brasa starts from what is in your hand, not from a recipe you have already chosen. Photograph a raw cut of meat or fish and it works out what it is — the protein, the bone, the thickness — then offers ways that same cut is cooked in kitchens around the world. Real dishes with their own names and their own lineage, not five variations on the thing you were going to make anyway.
If you came here looking for one particular recipe, this is not that app.
WHAT IT COSTS
The first 7 cooks are free. After that Brasa is a subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown on this page in your own currency. No advertising, ever.
WHAT IT DOES
• Identifies a raw cut from a photograph, and lets you correct it if it gets it wrong
• Offers dishes from different food cultures, each with where it comes from and what makes it that region's version
• Marks every dish as traditional, or says plainly what was adapted to suit your cut
• Writes the full recipe and walks you through it, with timers that keep running when the phone is locked
• Checks your pan mid-cook: photograph what you are doing and Brasa tells you whether it is going the way it should
• Breaks a whole bird or joint into a week of meals, each from a different tradition, ordered by what spoils first
• Builds a shopping list from any recipe, grouped by the dish it belongs to
• Cooks around what is already in your kitchen, and steers you towards whatever is about to turn
• Learns what you actually like after a couple of dishes, and stops offering what you don't
TEN LANGUAGES
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Hindi. The app follows your phone. Dish names stay in their own language — 红烧排骨 stays 红烧排骨, because that is the point of the suggestion.
YOUR DATA
There are no accounts and no sign-up. Your kitchen, saved recipes, ratings, shopping list and history stay on your phone and are never uploaded. Photographs are sent to be looked at and are not kept. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
Brasa is Spanish and Portuguese for a live ember.
