About Reclaim - Free Up Your Storage
Reclaim makes the photos and videos on your phone smaller, so they take up less space, without uploading anything.
Many phones save photos at a much higher quality than you can see. Reclaim re-encodes them at a quality chosen to look the same, and keeps everything else about each photo: the date it was taken, its location if it has one, the camera details, which way up it goes, and the album it is in.
HOW IT WORKS
• Scan: Reclaim looks through your photos and videos and estimates how much space each one could save. Nothing is changed.
• Review: see which items are worth optimizing and which are already small. Choose all of them or a few.
• Preview: compare a sample of your own photos before and after, side by side, with the sizes.
• Optimize: each new file is checked before it replaces the original: that it opens, is the right size and shape, and still carries its date and details. Anything that fails a check is left exactly as it was.
• History: see how much space each run actually recovered.
A long run keeps going in the background with a notification you can stop it from, and picks up where it left off if it is interrupted.
WHAT IT LEAVES ALONE
JPEG photos are optimized. RAW files, Motion Photos, PNG screenshots and photos that are already compressed are skipped, and Reclaim says why. On Android 14 and later, Ultra HDR photos keep their HDR. Photos and videos on an SD card are included.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything happens on your phone. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, and neither are their names, locations or dates.
• No account and no sign-in.
• No adverts.
• Usage and crash reports are sent only if you agree, and never include anything about your photos. Saying no changes nothing, and you can change your mind in Settings.
• If you want to, you can remove location and other details from photos as they are optimized.

Free: scan your whole library, see the estimated savings, preview the result, and optimize up to 500 photos in total.
Pro, a one-time purchase with no subscription: optimize as many photos as you like, optimize videos as well (re-encoded to HEVC where your phone's hardware can do it), and set the compression level yourself.
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU OPTIMIZE
• Optimizing is permanent. The original is replaced and there is no undo. Reclaim asks you to confirm every time, and Android asks you before any file is changed.
• Savings shown before optimizing are estimates. The actual space recovered is reported afterwards.
• If your photos are backed up to a cloud service, Reclaim frees space on your phone, not in the cloud. A backup service may see an optimized photo as new and upload it again beside the original.
