About BenchLog — Reloading Journal

Measure a group from a photo of the target. Count the rounds on every barrel, built from the sessions you already log. Chart charge — or seating depth — against what the target actually shows. Bring the log you already keep over from a spreadsheet. BenchLog is a reloader's logbook that does the work at the bench, with no signal.

Built for handloaders who take load development seriously — and who want their records to stay on their own device. No account. No cloud. No subscription.

LOG YOUR LOADS
• Record caliber — .308, 9mm or whatever you load — plus bullet, powder, charge, primer, brass, OAL, CBTO and notes
• Duplicate a load to work up the next charge in one tap
• Version history keeps every step of a workup
• Yellow flag when a charge tops your own logged max
• Moving over from a spreadsheet? Import your existing log from a CSV file

TRACK EVERY RANGE SESSION
• Enter velocities by hand or import a chronograph CSV
• No chronograph? Enter the number of rounds fired — inventory and barrel round count follow it
• Live average, SD and ES as you go
• Group size, MOA, distance, weather and a keeper / retest / reject verdict
• Photo of the group

KNOW YOUR BARREL
• Round count for every rifle and pistol barrel, built from the sessions you already log — free
• Bought the gun used or started mid-life? Enter what the barrel had on it before BenchLog
• Sessions on loads without a barrel are never folded into the count
• Sessions with no round count are marked, not silently counted as zero
• PRO: cleaning log — set "clean at N rounds", see the count since the last cleaning, and keep every cleaning with the round count it was done at

MEASURE YOUR GROUP FROM A PHOTO
• Photograph your target and tap each hole — pinch to zoom for the tight ones
• Set the scale from a known length on the target or from your bullet diameter
• Center-to-center spread, mean radius, MOA and mil — all computed on your device
• Point of impact offset, plus the scope clicks needed to correct it
• Drop the measured group straight into the range session
• Photos are never uploaded and never leave your phone
• Included free — no purchase needed

SEE YOUR LADDER
• Charge vs. velocity chart across a workup
• Seating depth test: switch the axis to CBTO and chart group size against cartridge length
• Tap any point for its MOA and distance
• SD at a glance to spot the flat spots

KNOW YOUR INVENTORY
• Track powder, bullets, primers and brass with cost — see what your ammo costs per round
• "Rounds left" forecast from your average charge
• Low-stock flags

EXPORT AND BACK UP
• Printable PDF load book
• CSV export of loads, sessions, components and barrel cleanings
• Full backup to a single file — and restore it anytime

BUILT RIGHT
• 100% offline — everything works at the shooting range with no signal
• No account, no tracking, your data never leaves the device unless YOU export it
• Free forever: your range log, group measurement, ladder charts, inventory, barrel round count, import and export, and your first 10 loads
• One-time purchase — BenchLog Pro — unlocks unlimited loads, the barrel cleaning log, the season summary and the result card, with more Pro tools as they land. No subscription, ever.

BenchLog stores YOUR records only. It is not load data. Always verify charges against a current published reloading manual. Start low and work up. You are responsible for your loads.

What’s new

Version 1.3.0 · Updated September 17, 2026

• Import preview says before you import how many loads come in and how many are left for Pro. • The same file imported twice no longer creates duplicate cards. • A restored backup comes back whole, nothing is dropped. Without Pro the list shows the first 10 loads you added and says how many more are in the journal — on the confirmation, before anything is written. Backup, PDF and CSV include every load. • Season summary and the result card are now part of Pro; personal bests stay free.
