About Barkeez – dog map & walks

Barkeez is an app for dog owners that brings a map of dog-friendly places, walk tracking and a community together in one place.

🗺️ DOG-FRIENDLY MAP
Find nearby parks, dog runs, water bowls, dog-waste bins and pet shops. Add your own places, rate them and confirm they still exist. Report hazards (like spilled poison or broken glass) to warn others - the app alerts you when you get close to a reported spot.

🐾 WALKS & DOG HEALTH
Record walks with GPS - distance, time and route on the map, even with the screen locked. Replay your past routes like in sports apps. During a walk you can also mark when and where your dog pees or poops, helping you keep a better record of your dog's routine.

Keep a profile for each dog: breed, weight and a weight-history chart.

🚨 LOST & FOUND DOGS
Report a lost or found dog directly in Barkeez and place the report on the map. Add details, a photo and contact information to help other dog owners identify the dog.

When a lost or found dog is reported, Barkeez notifies users within a 10 km radius, helping spread the information quickly among people who are actually nearby.

🎯 BREED-BASED ACTIVITY GOALS
Barkeez suggests a recommended daily distance for your dog based on breed and weight, and a goal bar shows how far is left to the minimum and maximum. An activity chart for recent days helps keep your pet in shape.

📚 BREED INFO & FAQ
A library of over 200 breeds with a short note on temperament, grooming and health, plus frequently asked questions - all tailored to your dog's breed.

👥 FRIENDS & COMMUNITY
Add friends, create groups and plan shared walks with a calendar. During a walk you see other dog people nearby on the map and can invite them as friends. Share your dog with a trusted person for "care" when you need a hand.

📍 HANGOUTS & CHECK-INS
Create "hangouts" - favourite meeting spots with friends or a group. When you enter their area you check in automatically, and others can see who is there now. In parks, presence is public - you can check whether someone is already walking there.

🏆 CHALLENGES
Compete with friends in challenges for distance, number of walks or time - with a leaderboard, like in fitness apps.

🔔 NOTIFICATIONS
Stay up to date with invitations, shared walks, friends' activity, hazard alerts and nearby lost or found dog reports. You decide which notifications you want to receive.

🔒 PRIVACY IN YOUR CONTROL
You decide when you share your position: always (when the map is open), only during a walk, or never. People outside your friends see your location only approximately.

Barkeez works in English and Polish. You can use the app as a guest, without creating an account.
