About BYB Backpack

BYB Backpack connects to a compatible square-wave output board via Bluetooth. Choose a frequency preset or adjust the stimulus settings, then use Left or Right to send the configured output.

BYB Backpack is an educational wireless signal generator developed by Backyard Brains. Original device development was supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, NIH (award R43MH093334).

A compatible board is required. On Android 11 or earlier, Bluetooth discovery may require Location permission. The app sends crash reports and limited performance diagnostics to Sentry to help improve reliability. See our privacy policy for details.
