Art of Stat: Distributions

Visualize and explore probability distributions via sliders. Easily find probabilities or percentiles (two-tailed, upper tail or lower tail) for computing P-values or finding critical values for confidence intervals.

Developed for both students and teachers as a handy tool to visualize and explore probability distributions and their properties interactively.

Free yourself or your students from complicated statistics graphing calculators with their horrible user-interface and which actually don't represent results such as probabilities or percentiles graphically (nor in color).

The app works in offline (airplane) mode for potential use during exams. (The app's background color will indicate it is in offline mode.)

Distributions implemented so far:
- Normal
- Student's t
- Chi-Squared
- F
- Binomial
- Geometric
- Poisson

For each distribution, an Explore tab lets you explore the distribution via sliders and you can see how its shape depends on the parameter(s).

On the Find Probability tab, you enter values for the parameters of the distribution and the graph of the distribution is drawn. You select a value for x and the type of probability you want to find, such as "Lower Tail: P(X ≤ x)." The resulting probability is provided both visually and numerically.

On the Find Percentile tab, you provide the desired lower, upper or two-tailed percentage, and the app computes (and visualizes) the corresponding percentile.

On the Random Numbers tab, you can draw random samples from the distribution.
