The Fortune Room

Step behind the velvet curtain into a candlelit back room, where an old fortune teller waits behind her crystal ball.

Buy a ticket, place it on the table, and watch the ritual unfold. A Small Fortune is a whispered omen, with a vision rising in the glass. A Big Detailed Fortune lays out the card, the coin and the thread, and reads what follows you, what is approaching, and what you must choose.

Every reading leaves something behind. The light the ball casts on the table grows a little brighter. Objects in the room begin to glint, each holding a true story about luck and fate, from the Roman goddess Fortuna to the red thread of East Asian legend, and a few of them are hidden behind the curtains. Detailed readings pin new charms to the curtains: a horoscope almanac that turns to any birthday, lucky numbers and colours for the day, a tarot card of the day, a moon almanac for any night, the numbers of your life, and words of fortune from around the world.

And with every fortune, the fortune teller changes. Quietly, while you read, she grows younger. Why she changes, and who she once was, is yours to discover.

Complete her story and she will read your palm. Hold your hand up to the camera and she traces your heart, head, life and fate lines on the photo, then tells you what palmists say they mean. The photo is examined on your device and is never saved or sent anywhere.

Every reading you receive is kept in your book of readings, so you can return to it whenever you like.
