【1】Get conversation starters after checking your answers
All questions come with explanations. Not only does it tell you the correct answer, but it also explains "why" it is, so just by solving the problems, you'll have more interesting tidbits to share with others at mountain huts or after descending the mountain.

For example, the "rucksack" you carry on your back. Originally from the German word "Sack," it simply means "bag." "Rucksack" is a combination of "back" and "bag," so a direct translation would be "back bag." Knowing that the Japanese word "zack" (zakku) refers to only the back half of a backpack will slightly change how you feel the next time you carry one.

[2] For both beginners and experienced hikers, learn at your own pace.
Divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

The beginner level is designed for those with no prior mountaineering experience. Technical terms are explained within the questions before being asked, so you won't be left behind.

The intermediate level delves into the origins of names for equipment like ice axes and crampons, while the advanced level covers standards and regulations such as the conditions that distinguish snowfields from glaciers and the definition of permafrost. Experienced hikers can use this as a place to test their knowledge.

[3] Playable even in mountain areas without cell phone reception.
No internet connection is required. Open it on ridges, in mountain huts, or on trains and buses without worrying about being out of range. Perfect for waiting for good weather or the time between getting into your sleeping bag and falling asleep.

[4] A sense of progress is left lingering.
The problems are divided into "courses." Each course has 5 questions. If you answer 3 or more questions correctly, you've completed that course.

Your progress is saved on your device, so you can resume from where you left off. As you complete more courses, you'll collect equipment such as a headlamp, compass, ice axe, hiking boots, and summit marker. Try to collect them all at your own pace.

[5] No repetitive questions.
The order of questions and answer choices is shuffled each time you play. This prevents you from memorizing the answer positions and becoming repetitive.
