About Place Globe
PlaceGlobe turns a 3D globe into a personal travel record. Search 186 countries and a curated catalog of 3,000 major cities, then mark places as visited, lived, wishlist, or transit.
Explore your history through Passport statistics, Records, travel insights, a timeline, achievements, and discovery views. Organize places into Trip Collections, and create share-ready summaries in Share Studio. Choose Major, Balanced, or All City density and switch between Basic, Terrain, and Satellite map styles.
Your travel records are stored locally on your device. PlaceGlobe has no account system and does not upload your records to an app-operated server. You can export and import a local JSON backup yourself. Android system backup may restore eligible app data when enabled on your device; this is separate from account-based sync inside PlaceGl
Country boundaries use Natural Earth data. City reference data is derived from GeoNames. Interactive maps are rendered with Mapbox.
The city catalog is a selected set of major cities, not a complete global city database. Map detail and label availability can vary by zoom, style, and device.
