Carlsbad Caverns National Park:

Prepare for a world of adventure among these caves, among the biggest in the world! With jaw-dropping caverns, stunning rock formations, underground pools, and other awe-inspiring sights, this is a park you won’t soon forget! You’ll be hiking two trails, the Natural Entrance Trail and the Big Room Trail, which will take you through the best publicly-accessible sites in the caverns.

As you explore, you’ll learn about the ancient people who once lived here and about Jim White, cowboy, cave explorer, and ultimately park ranger, who put Carlsbad on the map! You might even see bats swarming out of the caves, as he once did!

Marvel at astonishing formations, from stalagmites and stalactites to more intricate shapes like curtains and popcorn, and find out how all of these shapes form! Stroll past Mirror Lake with its strangely reflective surface. Gape at the Bottomless Pit, shrouded in darkness. And much, much more.
