About Fernweh

Fernweh is a survival adventure where you must journey north to find refuge after monsters, emerging from the fog in the east, have destroyed your hometown. The world around you is dark and unforgiving, with towns offering the only safe havens. Between these towns lies the dangerous wilderness, where survival depends on your ability to gather resources by day, build defenses, and endure relentless attacks from nightmarish creatures after sunset.

Survival in a Dangerous World
Every day brings new challenges as you explore and scavenge for supplies in the wilderness. Your primary goal is to gather materials—wood, stone, metal, and more—needed to fortify your position before nightfall. The towns offer safety, but they are few and far between. The journey between them is long, and at night, terrifying creatures emerge from the fog, hungry for anything in their path.

Daytime Scavenging and Preparation
During the day, you have a limited amount of time to gather resources, craft tools, and strengthen your defenses. The longer you stay in the open, the higher the risk of attracting the monsters that roam the land. Once you've gathered enough, you’ll need to decide how to best use the resources—whether to reinforce your shelter, craft better weapons, or prepare for the night’s attacks. Every decision matters, as the creatures that lurk in the fog grow more dangerous with each passing day.

Nightfall: Defend or Die
As dusk settles, the monsters of the fog awaken, their haunting presence felt in the distance. With your defenses set, you must now prepare for the relentless assault. Will your barricades hold up? Are your weapons enough to fight back? If not, it’s up to your quick thinking and resourcefulness to survive the night. The creatures will come, and only your preparedness will determine if you make it to the safety of the next town.

Key Features:
Day/Night Cycle: Spend the day gathering resources and building your defenses, then survive the night as monsters attack.

Resource Management: Scavenge, craft, and plan carefully to stay alive. Every resource is valuable.

Base Building: Use the materials you collect to fortify your position and create defenses against the nighttime creatures.

Strategic Survival: Choose when to explore, when to rest, and how to allocate your resources to ensure survival.

Endless Danger Between Towns
The journey from one town to the next is perilous, with the monsters growing more aggressive the further north you travel. Each town offers temporary safety, but no resources—it's your only chance to rest and prepare for the next dangerous stretch of your journey. Will you make it to the next refuge, or will the creatures claim you before you can reach safety?

In Fernweh, every journey is a test of endurance, every night a battle for survival. Do you have what it takes to reach safety before the creatures of the fog claim you?
