CurrencyHover: Price Converter

Travelling, shopping on a foreign site, or booking a ride abroad? Tap the CurrencyHover bubble and every price on your screen gets a small tag showing what it costs in your own currency. No copying, no switching apps.

WORKS IN ANY APP
• Ride hailing, food delivery, hotel and flight apps, shopping sites and browsers
• Reads prices written with signs or codes (฿, €, £, ¥, RM, Rp, S$, USD…), ranges and shorthand like 50k
• Plain numbers on a screen that shows its currency elsewhere are converted too
• Tags follow along as you scroll

TAP A TAG FOR DETAILS
• Exact amount in your currency, plus an optional second currency
• The rate used and when it was updated
• Tip and bill-split helper
• Log the price to your trip in one tap

PRICE CAMERA
Point your camera at a menu, a price tag or a shop sign and prices get tags live. Freeze the frame to read it comfortably, or use the torch in dim places.

TRANSLATE THE SCREEN
Tap the translate button and every text on screen, including text inside pictures, shows in your language, right where it was, at the same size and in the same colours. Switch price tags on as well and both work together. Translation runs on your phone; each language downloads once (about 30 MB) and then works offline.

TRIP LOG
Keep a running total of what your trip costs in your own currency, at the rate of the moment you paid. Set a budget, edit entries, keep several trips and share a CSV.

MADE TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
• Auto-on: conversion switches on by itself in the apps where you use it
• Quick Settings tiles to toggle tags, translate the screen or open the camera
• Home-screen widget with the live rate, either way round (1 THB = ₹2.84 or ₹1 = ฿0.35)
• Recent prices: the last 30 prices found or converted, on the home screen, until you clear them
• Light and dark mode

LIVE RATES
Exchange rates for 160+ currencies come from ExchangeRate-API and refresh through the day. The travel currency can be detected from the mobile network when you are abroad.

PRIVACY
CurrencyHover uses Android’s Accessibility service to read the text on your screen, only while price tags or Translate screen are switched on, so it can find prices and show them converted, or show the text in your language. Optionally it also reads a screenshot to find text inside images. All of this happens on your phone: screen content, screenshots and camera images are never sent anywhere, and the only thing kept is a list of the last 30 prices found or converted, on your phone, until you clear it. The app has no accounts, ads or tracking, and downloads only the exchange-rate table and, for translation, language packs. Privacy policy: https://backrock.co/currencyhover/privacy.html
