Buddy is a personal AI assistant that gets to know you over time: who you are, who the people in your life are, and how you write. All personal information remains encrypted on your device. Only text is sent to the AI ​​service, with names, addresses, and numbers replaced by placeholders.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU
• Tell Buddy about yourself – type or dictate. Dictation only works on the device; Buddy won't offer it without local speech recognition.

• People, writing style, greetings, and private words that are never sent to the AI.

• Buddy can remember things during conversations. You can see each remembered sentence and undo it.

EMAILS AND APPOINTMENTS

• Connect Gmail and Google Calendar. Buddy retrieves the data directly from Google to your device, without any intermediary servers, and doesn't store emails.

• Buddy searches for and reads emails, drafts replies in your style, and saves them as drafts in Gmail.

• Buddy reads your appointments, finds free time, and suggests alternative times.

• Buddy never acts alone: ​​An email is only sent, and an appointment is only entered, after you confirm. Buddy highlights unknown or similar-looking recipients before sending.

THE DATA GATE
• Before each request, Buddy replaces names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, IBANs, and other information on your device with placeholders like [PERSON_1]. The response is then translated back on your device.

• If the gate finds any recognizable information in the completed request, it doesn't send anything.

• "This is how the AI ​​sees it" shows you what will be sent before you send it. Tapping on a word hides it in the future.

• Health, religion, politics, and other particularly sensitive information are only sent to the AI ​​if you explicitly authorize it.

• The log shows every request from the last 30 days exactly as the AI ​​service received it—only on your device.


YOU CHOOSE WHERE BUDDY THINKS

Claude (Anthropic, USA), Gemini (Google, USA), Mistral (EU), a Swiss hosting provider, or a model on your own computer (for example, Ollama or LM Studio). The encryption process works with every provider, even on your own computer. Buddy only forwards emails and appointments to Gemini if ​​you confirm a paid subscription.

SECURE ON YOUR DEVICE

• Everything Buddy stores is encrypted with AES-256-GCM; the key is stored in the keystore.

• Optional app lock with Face ID, fingerprint, or device passcode.

• Encrypted backup with your password, restoreable on another device.

• "Erase everything" destroys the key, disconnects from Google, and removes all data.

• No user account with us, no Buddy server, no tracking, no advertising.

TALK INSTEAD OF TYPING
In conversation mode, you talk to Buddy, and Buddy responds with your device's voice. Recognition and speech output run on the device.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Your own access (API key) to one of the AI ​​services or a model on your computer. You sign the contract directly with the provider; costs are incurred there.

• A Google account for email and calendar.

FOR OUR HONEST PRINCIPLES

Pseudonymized is not anonymous: Dates, amounts, topics, and relationships remain readable so the AI ​​can help. Unusually spelled names may be missed. On Android, Buddy only replaces company and location names if you have entered them in your profile or as a private word.
