Handwriting Notes Pro puts a handwriting notebook and an instant whiteboard in one app. Take class and meeting notes with a stylus or your finger, write on PDFs, sketch ideas, or hand the board to your kids. Notebooks and pages are unlimited, and PDF annotation, export and backup are free.

Ballpoint, pencil, felt-tip pen and highlighter are free, with pressure-sensitive width, smoothing and 16 colors. Keep 4 favorite pens in the pen rack and switch with one tap. The highlighter goes under your writing.

• Palm rejection
Once you use a stylus, your finger only scrolls and zooms (adjustable), so resting your hand leaves no stray lines. Pen input is drawn with reduced latency.

• An instant whiteboard
Open a blank board from the bottom tab at any time. Clear it with one tap and undo right after if you change your mind; the last 10 cleared boards are kept in history. Choose a whiteboard, chalkboard or black LCD writing tablet look, go full screen, lock the screen rotation, or save the board as a notebook. Kid lock hides the menus and pins the board (Android screen pinning), so children can doodle without leaving it.

• Write on PDFs
Handwrite on every page of a PDF: slides, forms and worksheets. Save or share it as a PDF. No limits.

• Eraser, undo and redo
Erase whole strokes or only the part you rub over. Hold the pen button or flip to the eraser end to erase, or simply scribble over a stroke. Tap with two fingers to undo and three fingers to redo.

• Lasso
Select strokes, text and photos, then move, resize, rotate, recolor or duplicate them, or copy and paste to another page.

• Clean shapes
Draw lines, arrows, rectangles, circles, triangles and diamonds with the shape tool. With any pen, pause at the end of a stroke and it snaps into a neat shape.

• Text and photos
Type text onto a page and paste photos (location data is not kept). Typed text is searchable.

• Paper and page size
Blank, lined, grid and dot paper in white, cream or black are free. Page sizes include A4 (portrait or landscape), Letter, phone, square and wide.

• Organize
Folders, favorites, sorting and cover colors. Search titles, folders and typed text. Reorder, duplicate or delete pages.

• Auto save and trash
There is no save button: everything saves as you write. Deleted notebooks stay in the trash for 30 days.

Save or share a notebook as PDF, or a page as an image in your gallery. Back up every notebook to a ZIP file and restore it on a new phone, replacing or merging. Automatic backup to a folder you choose is also available.
