About Network Problem Detector
WiFi connected but no internet? Websites not loading, DNS errors or a VPN that suddenly stops working? WiFi Doctor helps you understand what may be wrong with your connection and what to try next.
Run a network diagnostic on Android to check WiFi, internet access, DNS, Private DNS, VPN and mobile data. Instead of showing several alerts for the same connection failure, the app highlights a leading finding, explains the supporting tests and suggests a practical next step.
CHECK YOUR CONNECTION
• WiFi diagnostics: Review signal strength, IP address assignment, gateway, routing and Android's internet validation status.
• Internet connection test: Check multiple web endpoints and secure HTTPS access. Identify possible WiFi sign-in pages (captive portals) and connection failures.
• DNS checker: Test domain name lookups, compare results with DNS-over-HTTPS and inspect Private DNS settings and connection status.
• VPN checker: See whether Android detects a VPN connection and whether its internet access has been validated.
• Mobile data checks: Review cellular connectivity, roaming, airplane mode and Data Saver.
• Network speed and response: See web request times and an approximate download speed sample on unmetered connections.
• Optional WiFi scan: View nearby access points, signal levels, advertised security and possible stronger access points. Android requires location permission for this feature.
UNDERSTAND WHAT TO FIX
• Get a leading diagnosis rather than several duplicate warnings.
• Read clear explanations of what each check measured and what it cannot prove.
• Follow prioritized troubleshooting steps and open the relevant Android settings.
• Recheck your connection after changing settings or switching networks.
• Review the last 20 diagnostic runs to spot recurring connection problems and trends.
BUILT WITH PRIVACY IN MIND
No account is required. Diagnostic history is kept on your device. Nearby WiFi scanning is optional. Connectivity tests contact public test services, and you choose whether to share a diagnostic report.
Useful when your WiFi says “Connected, no internet,” a hotel or public network requires sign-in, DNS fails, a VPN blocks websites or mobile data behaves unexpectedly.
WiFi Doctor provides network troubleshooting guidance; it does not automatically repair routers or guarantee that every service is reachable.
