Umbral: Bloqueo de contenido

Threshold blocks pornography, apps, and websites you don't want to keep opening. When the urge strikes, it puts a pause between the impulse and the decision. And it doesn't tell anyone what you're doing.

It all happens inside your phone: no account, no servers of its own, and no ads.

HOW IT PROTECTS YOU

• Block adult sites: approximately 940,000 recognized sites, active from the first minute.

• Forced safe search: Google, YouTube, Bing, and DuckDuckGo always in safe mode.

• Block apps and sites: choose what you want to close, even apps you haven't installed yet and the Samsung Secure Folder.

• Visual shield: covers and skips to the next video when nudity appears in Reels, Shorts, or TikTok. Three levels: soft, normal, and strict. It's analyzed on the phone.

• Sections: turns off Reels, Shorts, or Explore and continues using messages.

• Keywords: pauses when you type in the browser what triggers your interest.

• Strict mode: To turn off any block, you have to wait, from 1 to 72 hours. What you decide in a good moment withstands the bad.

WHEN IT'S DIFFICULT

• "I feel like it now": A button to take a minute to breathe and let the impulse pass.

• A different phrase for each pause: Bible verses, encouraging phrases, or challenging phrases. You choose.

• Your personal reason, always in sight.

WHAT HELPS YOU KEEP GOING

• Streak with ranks that change color, achievements, and celebrations.

• Your streak earns rewards: Free Threshold Pro days when you reach 3, 7, 14, 30 days and more.

• A relapse doesn't erase what you've earned: Your achievements and your best streak remain.

• Ally: Every Sunday, you send them your weekly summary via WhatsApp. With their code, they can release a wait early.

• Focus: Time limits for social media and games, either by turns or with a daily total.

• Discreet Mode: Umbral may appear on your phone with a different name and icon.

TRUE PRIVACY

No account or login required. We don't have servers that receive your activity. Data is not shared or sold because there is no data to share.

USE OF THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE

Umbral uses the Android Accessibility API (AccessibilityService) as a core part of its blocking function, not as an accessibility tool. It uses it to: know which apps are open and pause those you've blocked or limited; read the browser address to stop blocked sites; compare what you type in browsers and search engines with your blocked words (never in password fields); recognize the sections you've blocked, such as Reels or Shorts; and, in strict mode, recognize the Settings and App Store screens from which Umbral is uninstalled or disabled. And, with the visual shield activated, it analyzes screenshots only with social media or browsers open and swipes to the next video when nudity appears. Everything is processed on the phone and discarded: nothing is saved or sent. Before activating it, Umbral explains this and asks for your consent.

USE OF VPN SERVICE

The web filter is optional and uses Android's VpnService to create a local VPN that exists only within your phone. Only DNS queries (the name of the requested site) pass through it, to compare them with the blocklist and force secure browsing. There is no external VPN server, your IP address does not change, page content is not passed, and your activity is neither saved nor sent. It does not redirect traffic for commercial purposes. Umbral asks for your consent before activating it.

Umbral is free to start: up to 3 apps and 3 of your own sites, the adult site filter, and 24-hour waiting periods. Umbral Pro adds unlimited apps and websites, apps you haven't installed yet, a visual shield, sections, keywords, the ally's code, and wait times of up to 72 hours. The subscription includes a 7-day free trial and can be canceled through Google Play.

Umbral is not a substitute for therapy or professional treatment. It is a support tool for those who have already decided to make a change.
