About the wanting mind – Living Book
Why do we want what we want, and why do some people take while others give?
the wanting mind is a living book. Its 36 chapters follow that question through neuroscience, economics, philosophy and anthropology. The book reads to you, maps its own ideas, and answers questions about the page you're on.
• Read the whole book free, with no ads, in English, 中文, 日本語 or ไทย
• Listen while you read, with each word highlighted as it is spoken
• Ask the book about the chapter in front of you; answers come from that chapter
• Explore 268 ideas and how they connect in an interactive 3D map
• Try 22 simulations, from Piketty's inequality to the Prisoner's Dilemma, and watch the numbers move
How it works
1. Open the book and start reading. No account needed.
2. Tap a highlighted idea to see what it means and where else it appears.
3. Sign in to ask the book questions. Your first 75 AI credits are free.
Free to read, with no ads and no account required. The opening chapters are narrated for free. A one-time Lifetime Access purchase unlocks the full audiobook (about 20 hours), cloud sync across your devices, and offline downloads.
