About StructMaster™

StructMaster™ is a professional solution for the capture, analysis and management of structural data in geological exploration, mining, engineering and geotechnical projects. The application is designed to facilitate the interpretation of drill cores through digitisation and image processing, transforming observations made on the core into organised, visualisable structural information that is useful for technical decision-making.

Using images of drill cores, StructMaster™ enables the recording and analysis of geological structures such as fractures, faults, veins, dikes, stratification and foliation, contributing to a better understanding of their orientation and distribution within the rock mass. The application facilitates the accurate measurement of geostructural angles, including Alpha, Beta, Gamma, dip, dip direction, trend and plunge – fundamental parameters for characterising the three-dimensional arrangement of the structures traversing the borehole.

StructMaster™ incorporates stereographic visualisation tools that help to interpret patterns, recognise dominant structural trends, identify families or groups of structures, analyse their density and study the relationships between them. The stereographic network allows the distribution of structural planes and poles to be represented, whilst the 3D view facilitates spatial analysis and an understanding of the project’s structural model.


The application combines interactive graphs and information tables to provide a clear and organised overview of the data recorded for each borehole. The structural record allows users to view general borehole data, such as the name, associated project, location, elevation, depth and date of measurement. It is also possible to select a reference measurement to compare the structural data with previous measurements, planned measurements or data from tools related to borehole surveying.

Thanks to the automation of calculations and the digitisation of the geological workflow, StructMaster™ helps to reduce human error, minimise manual work and optimise analysis times. Structured information management promotes greater consistency in records and enables larger volumes of data to be handled more efficiently, whilst maintaining an overview of the structures identified in the various boreholes.

Structural information can be analysed within a centralised environment, facilitating the selection and filtering of data by structure type, system or other available criteria. The visualisation of 2D stereonets, 3D representations and borehole logs with plotted structures allows the results to be reviewed, structural domains to be defined, and geological and geotechnical conclusions relevant to the project to be drawn.

StructMaster™ forms part of an integrated borehole measurement ecosystem alongside tools designed for core orientation and wellbore trajectory measurement. This integration enables the orientation of the extracted material and the location of the borehole to be correlated with the record of geological structures, providing a more comprehensive basis for interpreting the actual geometry of the subsurface.

Its main applications include geological exploration, the assessment of structures in drill cores, engineering and geotechnics, structural stability analysis, excavation planning, and research and development of technologies applied to geological processing.
