About PikaBear

PikaBear is a teddy bear who learns languages with you.

Seven languages: English, German, Italian, Spanish, French,
Turkish - and Slovenian for those who are learning them.

FOR CHILDREN (4-8 years)

🔤 Letters - the teddy bear asks, the child shows a picture.
🔢 Numbers - with apples that can be counted.
💬 Words - sixty words in each language. When the child shows the right picture,
the teddy bear waits for him to say the word - because showing a picture is not the same as knowing
the word.
🗣️ Conversation - the teddy bear asks, the child answers. He can also answer in
Slovenian; the teddy bear understands and answers in a foreign language.

FOR ELDERLY AND ADULTS

🎯 Exercise - phrases by situations: restaurant, road, chat, meeting, email,
negotiations.
💬 Chat - free conversation in the language you are learning.
🌍 Voice translation - speak in Slovenian and hear in a foreign language. Or
vice versa.

FOR EVERYONE

📷 Everyday words - take a photo of a menu, sign or packaging.
The application reads the text, suggests words and adds them to those you
learn.

THE BEAR'S VOICE

The bear speaks with a recorded human voice, not a computer one. Foreign words
are pronounced by a native speaker of that language so that the child learns the correct pronunciation.

WHAT'S NOT IN THE APP

No ads. No accounts or registration. No analytics or tracking. We do not store anything about your
child.

PRICE

The application is free to download. Games, exercises, alphabet, numbers, vocabulary, the bear's voice and words from the photo are free and unlimited. Conversation
and voice translation are free for up to twenty questions per device; for more, a Premium subscription is available (free for the first 7 days), which you can cancel in Google Play.

The application requires internet and a microphone; internet is also required to ask for the translation language before using mobile data. It does not require a camera, location, or access to the address book or files.

Progress, points, and saved words remain on the phone.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Conversation and voice translation use artificial intelligence and require the internet to work: what is said is converted into text and sent to the service, which composes the response. The text is processed on the fly and is not stored anywhere. Responses are generated on the fly - they may be inaccurate and cannot be reviewed in advance. For small children, we recommend that an adult be nearby. For cloud conversation, the application asks a parent when first launched; all games, exercises, and vocabulary work without consent.

Games, exercises, vocabulary, and the bear's voice also work without the internet.
