With the goal of developing language technology for Kinyarwanda, we are asking Kinyarwanda speaking volunteers to contribute data though Huza Imvugo App. The App plays an audio clip with corresponding text shown, and the user is asked to touch/click the last spoken word in the text at every pause. Aligning phrases with speech data will help us develop better acoustic and pronunciation models for Kinyarwanda.
The content presented by the App is pulled mainly from JW.ORG website in the same way it is publicly accessible with a web browser. This content is made of religious teachings by Jehovah’s Witnesses. The App requires Internet connection to access the content.
This App does NOT collect any user's private information. Only click positions within the text are recorded to align the audio with text.
For more information about the project, please contact us by email to [email protected].
